With soul-shaking vocals, searing harmonica and wailing guitars to a driving beat, Juwana Jenkins and Her Mojo Band (USA/CZ) energetically entertain with high powered originals and the best from the kings, queens and wild legends of the blues: Freddie King, Earl King, Etta James, Big Mama Thorton, Aretha Franklin, Howlin’ Wolf and Muddy Waters.

Created by special request to perform for the Blues Alive International Festival in Šumperk (CZ), this blues “all stars” project emphasizes authentic sound of old school-blues with the power of an uncompromising, swinging bulldozer. The charismatic, highly dynamic vocalist, Juwana Jenkins of Philadelphia (US), fronts the band with her unmistakable soulful, gospel-influenced voice. The Czech Republic’s leading harmonica player, Charlie Slavík drives the two-generation band with outstanding Czech musicians, including Jiri Hokes on the guitar and the legendary Petr Eichler on the drums among others.

The band’s members, some of the Czech Republic’s hottest musicians in blues, have opened for former Rolling Stones Mick Taylor, toured with Chicago Blues sensations and performed in numerous clubs and music festivals throughout Holland, Germany, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
