Official Orchestra and Ambassador of the European Capital of Culture 2022 Novi Sad and the European Capital of Culture Ruhr2010

The East West European Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Uwe Plath - among other things official orchestra of the 2022 European Capital of Culture Novi Sad, the 2010 European Capital of Culture Ruhr - has been on tour with many great jazz musicians since its founding in 2007 - 2025. These include the American Grammy winner '79 Dennis Rowland/ USA, Jerry Bergonzi/ USA, David Liebmann/ USA, Alex Sipiagin/ RU, J.D.Walter/ USA, Boris Kozlov/ RU (Director Mingus Big Band New York), Deborah J. Carter/ USA, Peter Beets/ NL, Norbert Gottschalk/ D, Wycliffe Gordon/ USA, Peter Weniger/ USA, Gerard Presencer/ USA, Vincent Hering/ USA, Milan Svoboda/ CZ, Dian Pratiwi/ Bali Indonesia and many others. In 2010, the orchestra performed as ambassador and representative of the "Cultural Capital Ruhr 2010" on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany in the "Capital of Culture Istanbul 2010," the second European Capital of Culture in 2010.

As part of its cooperation with the Jaroslav Jezek Prague, the Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy Dortmund, and other partners and jazz institutions, the orchestra will receive comprehensive support from the German-Czech Future Fund for its concerts in Germany and the Czech Republic in 2025.

For many years, the orchestra has struck a musical and social balance between the Eastern and Western hemispheres, within a pan-European context. Year after year, it supports and introduces young, up-and-coming jazz talents - always with an eye on the pan-European and constantly evolving global jazz scene. At the highest musical level, it not only stands for excellent professional performances, but also creates a strong sense of international understanding among its members and fans - soul mates connected by their enthusiasm for jazz. Even though this year's focus in the European context is on international projects in the Czech Republic and Germany, the orchestra and its members are also specifically supporting musicians from Ukraine in light of the current situation.

It is this spirit, this mix of freshness and experience combined with the multinational charisma that gives the East West European Jazz Orchestra a unique selling point and makes it so successful.

For the concerts / concert tours in 2025 - including most recently as ambassador of the 'European Capital of Culture' 2022 Novi Sad - the East West European Jazz Orchestra will perform in various projects and constellations with, among others, the international soloists Ondrej Stveracek CZ, Daria Pereverzeva D, Orest Filipov UKR, Miroslav Hloucal CZ, Max Köhler D, Alexandre Santos BRA and others.

A major part of the program will feature the young, up-and-coming jazz & soul vocalist Daria Pereverzeva. Despite her young age, Daria "Dasha" Pereverzeva Stamenov has been inspiring and enchanting the jazz scene for some time, combining mainstream jazz with groove, funk, and soul elements, and knows how to "capture" her audience like no other.

As the 2021 NRW Folkwang Prize winner and 2022 domicil Award winner, Orest Filipov is one of the most important tenorists of a new, emerging generation of jazz musicians in Germany and internationally.

Look forward to an evening featuring top international stars as well as young, up-and-coming talents, a wide variety of jazz styles, and many musical surprises.
